Q
I recently found your Youtube channel, and I love your videos. A lot of your toons, when I watch them, take me way back to when I first saw Awesome Race. That happens to be my absolute favorite cartoon of yours (Not that I don't love the other ones, that one just holds a lot of nostalgic value). Anyway, I guess what I wanted to ask was, "Which of your animations is your favorite and why?" Also you're a huge inspiration to me so Thanks!

Every time I get asked this question I always think of The Greatest Idea Ever. I think it was topical yet timeless, original, had cool character designs and art, etc. And I just liked the script and the jokes and the way it all unfolded.

The timing in the dialogue is a little off when I go back and watch it now, but I’ve grown a lot since then I think. I mean, I made it years ago. Plus my acting was stiff back then.

So yeah! That’s my favorite.

Q
Do you ever get neck strain while working with your Cintiq?
Anonymous
A

When I first got it, I was a mess. I had a sore arm, sore back, sore shoulders, everything. I had headaches and I was nauseous. I mean, you’re staring at a giant screen hunched over for 8 hours a day. Not exactly what nature intended the human body for.

But after about a week and a half I was fine, and I’ve had no problems since.

MERRY CHRISTMAS! From your pal Max G. <3

Q
Why did you deactivate your deviantART account?
A

I wasn’t using it for anything, and people kept messaging me on there asking me things, which was kind of a pain. If people want to contact me for whatever reason they can but it’s easier for me if they PM me on youtube or question me on tumblr just so I have all my messages in one place.

Q
Why don't you ever just state your opinions on things? Whenever asked you use so much sarcasm that its impossible to tell when you're serious.
A

Okay here’s my opinion on you: YOU STINK! LOL JK THAT’S NOT OPINION IT’S FACT!!!!!!!!! Pwned.

Cool guy

Q
dude i'm loving your stuff! i'v been precticing with my tablet to get my work a fraction as good as yours but no matter how long i try i have never been able to get good at this stuff, i started using flash and photoshop back in 2007 but i'm no better now then i was back then, if anything using a tablet has caused me to take a step back due to having to learn something all over again, any advice for an aspiring cartoonist?
A

The thing about tablets is they kind of reflect your abilities to draw with pencil and paper. And the better model you get (intuos vs cintiq, etc) the more your drawing skills are truly represented.

Because of which, I feel inclined to say that instead of practicing drawing with your tablet, you just need to get practice drawing period. Which, of course, is done by drawing things you’re not good at drawing until you’re good at them.

But I’m not the best person to ask about this because I’ve never gone out of my way to practice in my life because I’m lazy as hell. I’d probably be a lot better if I did.

But like I say to everybody who asks about this: Don’t care how your cartoons looks. Focus on other things. They are more important.

Q
I'm not sure how much money you make for every shirt you sell through spreadshirt, but have you ever thought about making your own t-shirts by silkscreening/screen printing them yourself and distributing them through something like etsy or bigcartel??
A

I’ve thought about it before but unfortunately I’d have to sell a LOT more shirts before I’d be able to make a profit because of all the money I’d have to put into it myself. I hardly ever sell any shirts, which is why Spreadshirt is so great: it costs nothing to use and it’s way better than cafepress and zazzle. I recommend it to everybody.

Q
Do you like to play Japanese Roleplaying Games such as Final Fantasy or Shin Megami Tensei? Or are you a hardcore western casual first person shooter douche.
A

I do not play video games because I am not 12
